Notes: This was definitely the most challenging - yet most FUN - idea I've received. A new SERIES (yeah, that's right!) prompted by stars_inthe_sky!! Shifting POV's, this first through the teacher's eyes-- sort of a... flashback/rememberance (idk) to set the scene. I apologize for it's lengthiness!! Comments are loved and appreciated. Season 2: finished it today! Hoorah!

In retrospect:
1. Sheridan did grow on me. I'm still more of a Sinclair person myself, but I like Sheridan, too. He has a really nice smile and I totally want to use the phrase "abso-fraggin-lutely" in a conversation. Oh and that scene where Delenn was being interrogated by "Sebastian" and Sheridan comes in and ends up being tortured and their interaction during that scene = win. They're so sweet together. See, I'm okay with that kind of romance 'cause it makes SENSE and zomg there is development! Shweet.
2. WTF TALIA! that's still not cool. That will NEVER be cool, just like Sirius' death and Elric's death was and will never be cool. I liked Talia and there was so much still there for her character. Then no. Bite me, Psi Corps.
3. On the other hand, major *squee* for the brief moment of Susan/Talia which I liked cause it was done well. Then tragic.
4. I totally want an icon with Kosh that says "you've just been Kosh'd!" because that totally happens to people. It's like, "oh man...Sheridan just got Kosh'd!"  ...yesssss (apparently all band directors have an inner Vorlon. "Am I flat or sharp?" "Yes.")
5. Lennier FTW! He is still my homeslice even though he's still a relatively minor character. I love him to pieces and have no idea why. Ah well, such are homeslices. Oh and "Same time tomorrow?" "Sure." epic win!
6. Yay Vir! If Lennier weren't my homeslice, Vir would totally be. I love the moment he showed backbone, and that one scene where he was telling Londo how he was always a faliure at life...and then Londo makes a point of keeping him as attache TOTALLY made me cry, both for Vir and because Londo still has that good part deep within him but is losing it more and more every day and isn't even aware of it.
7. Yeah, that thing with Londo. Epic tragedy is WIN! Especially in the very last episode. "What did you see?" "Nothing." ahh! *flails*

and now stuff totally unrelated to Season 2 but still related to Babylon 5, because my LJ will currently be tallying my journey through B5 as last year it tallied my journey through Revelation:
I saw a pic of Emperor Cartagia, the new Centauri emperor. Can I say that he freaks me the fuck out even in just a pic? Egads, I can't wait to see him in action, he's prob 100x creepier.

I love this show like it's my JOB. No, it's not my job, it's CRACK. It has tragedy with every character and backstory and character dynamics like whoa and I'm going to have to go to rehab when I finish all the seasons. I effing love this show.

And now, a rant on Wiki and why it sucks and Straczynski and why I love him and hate him at the same time:
Okay, so Wiki got the better of me and I went ahead and Wiki'd Lennier. Damn you, Wiki. I hate you for existing. Anyway, I actually didn't read most of the article. I read the beginning cause it was stuff I already knew (aide to Delenn, member of religious caste, etc) then skipped to the end to see if there were any links where I could get pictures and stuff. And what do I read? What, you ask? Straczynski, the fair author of this series, informing us that...that...
Lennier dies in the telepath wars.
DIES.
DIES DIES DIES.

...the curse is not broken. It is still going strong. Oh, I had one BRIEF SHINING MOMENT OF HOPE that finally finally I had a homeslice that didn't die! But my dad did not read the article nor my friends, thus their words were sound since he doesn't die in the series. No, he dies later, speaketh the author. Oh writer, you shattered my dream and the curse lives on. If I have a homeslice, they will eventually die.

It's kind of creepy, really. Because my dad's homeslices don't die and neither do my mom's, but mine die almost every time. See, I really am cursed. This proves it.

of ALL the characters you could kill, Straczynski! You had lots! Lots! Yet you pick THAT one!

I am cursed for reals. But I will not withdraw my claim, Lennier is still homeslice and I still can't wait to find out what tragic stuff happens to him so I can write about him.

So I've just returned from seeing The Incredible Hulk. I fear I'm having to have to go for a bit of a lie-down because between Tim Roth and Edward Norton - sfsdfdsfsdfsd. Indeed. Yes.

Those (very lovely) bits aside, it was a great movie - everything that I hoped it would be. I am very well pleased.

So basically, I have decided that I'm a failbot. I had to break into my own apartment even though I wasn't locked out in the first place, I left a notebook in the mansion where I work - and the first page of the notebook was bandom fic planning. A park ranger AU bandom fic, where I had written the names of my co-workers so I could figure out which characters to match with which roles. There were other things as well, including the internet failing for a few days, and when I tried to phonepost about everything? The post didn't go through. FAIL.

In any case, it was also lessthangreat's birthday yesterday! I already posted two things including a picspam/fic thing for Jeri, but I feel like I should mention it again.

Also, unfortunately, I can't be online that much because of how difficult it is to get down to the lobby where the internet is. I'm only online right now because April and I are watching So You Think You Can Dance, so sadly, the next time I'm online I may have to do another defriending. I'm feeling so disconnected from everything that I need to defriend enough people so that I'll be able to keep up with my f-list and actually comment to posts. - OOH, FIREWORKS--! Now I have Under the Bright Lights stuck in my head! - Anyway, last night I looked at my f-list and realized that out of the 175 separate LJs I have friended, I know the real life names of 93 people. 115 if you count online pseudonyms. I mean, I adore pretty much everyone, so I'm going to be sad to do this defriending, but I feel like a couple people probably aren't even keeping up with my journal, and I don't want to spend all of my time online checking my f-list, you know? One time it was at 800 and it was insane. (P.S.: If you're missing my fandom talk, it'll be back at full blast in two months! Right now it's mainly RL + conservation babble.) I probably won't be online tomorrow evening because Becky Sue's boyfriend is having a cookout for the Fourth, but I will try to be on the day after that to reply to comments and such. [/tl;dr]

 Babylon 5 rant! Spoilers for all! So at the conclusion of today's episode...

WTF WTF!
There are, as far as I know, no amount of WTFs in the world to describe that. And I mean that in an "I'm super pissed, she was awesome" way rather than an "omg that makes no sense" way, because it DOES kind of make sense because the Psi Corps pulls shit like that. I'm just pissed they pulled their shit on TALIA. I liked Talia. She wasn' t my homeslice but I liked her because I bloody love EVERYONE on that show 'cause they're all full of dynamic awesomeness. Anyway, several reasons why I liked Talia:

1. That one time when she was helping to smuggle those renegade telepaths off the ship and she linked with all the others and fooled Bester into believing that he killed them all. Badass!
2. The fact that she was so disturbed at looking into the minds of serial killers but did it that one time even though that was like, the creepiest killer of them all (gathering voices for his choir? eek!)
3. I had a brief OTP of Garibaldi/Talia. Yeah. Their interaction was pwnsome.
4. She and Ivanova didn't get along, then they did and became friends, and then there was SUBTEXT OF DOOOOOOM and I was like, yes! Slash that makes sense! Hip hip hooray!
So yes. Talia goodness. She was awesome. Then what happened, might I ask?

The Psi Corps, as of now, can bite me. So they were performing this experiment where they implanted a hidden personality in the back of someone's mind so they can spy on people. The only way that personality will emerge is if a password is sent to their minds by another telepath. Lyta Alexander (yay she's back!) came to tell the B5 crew about it, and they were all, oh snap ohnoez! and had Lyta send the password to everyone. It kept coming up blank and the crew was all *headdesk* (and Sheridan and Delenn have a thing and it's pretty obvious but really sweet) and then what happens at the very end? Talia shows up and she's all, o hai! and then Lyta projects the password into her mind and IT WAS HER GOD DAMMIT. The Psi Corps stuck that personality in HER BRAIN WTF. I say "WTF" loudly and vigorously because when the personality emerges, it COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DESTROYS the personality of the person it resided in before. So Talia? Doesn't exist anymore. At all. She's 100% GONE and in her place is some creepy ass Psi Corps personality. No more Talia, EVER.

It was especially sad at the end when Ivanova was talking with Creepy Ass Psi Corps Personality and said personality was being all, yeah I was watching you all and laughing at your stupidity! and then Ivanova said, you're right, the Talia I knew is gone. Seriously, I almost cried.

This ranks a definitely 9 on the Not-Cool-o-Meter. The only thing that ranks a full 10 was the death of Elric in the second Techno-mage book and of course the death of Sirius Black in OOTP. 

Seriously. This is incredibly uncool. I still fucking love this show (it's like my crack) and will still keep religiously watching it (because it was an awesome omg plot twist regardless) but I just need to take the time to rant. Talia :( :(

Okay. I'm done. /end fandom rant

Okay, a lot has happened in the last fifteen days (ye gods, have I really been so lazy?). First of all, I turned 20. That was awesome; the day involved Avenue Q with my mom and the gift of a small, very realistic Chinese Crested doll purse. It’s only large enough to hold one tiny item, like my keys or cell phone, at a time, and it’s now a candidate for the creepiest thing I own. I also got tons of well-wishes from my friendslist, and birthday fics from rhombal and peridium-- both of which were absolutely awesome. ♥ Thanks, you guys! Also, happy belated birthday to rhombal as well!

Afterwards, I waited for my roommate to come home, and we, uh, went to Canada. Actually, we drove to Bellingham, met my roommate’s sister and her three friends, and headed up to Canada early the next day. Then we did nothing, really. Well, that’s not true. We went into Vancouver, wandered around Stanley Park, came back to our hotel, and watched TV and swam in the hotel pool in our underwear. We drove back the next day. It was completely random and, in my opinion, something of a waste of time, but it was at least a fun change from being at home.

I got a job at a large international fast food chain (to save some face, I’m not telling you which one), and I start on Sunday. I’m looking forward to having some work to do and getting out a bit and making money, and right now the hours are short enough I have a significant amount of time off.

My roommates have all been playing Guitar Hero on my computer, borrowed from one of their sisters for the week. After discovering that I suck at video games (although, one of them assured me, I was doing very well considering I’d never played one before), I took to picking up my bass whenever they reached for the laptop. They beat “The Cliffs of Dover” on Expert, I learned “Vampires Will Never Hurt You”. All in all, I think that they might’ve come off with the more useful experience, but it was fun anyway.

And, because I was offered it as a birthday present, I got a tattoo.
( And we’ll remember this when we are old and ancient, though the specifics might be vague )

This has been a weird month so far.

The best thing about having a giant tacklebox full of makeup is that I can walk into someone's closet and pick whatever clothes for them I want because I know I'll definitely have makeup to match it. This particular look is rather 80's, but I thought the dress went well with it. By the way, though you can't see it, the dress was really cute, I wish I owned it but it's some designer and apparently expensive so I never will :-P

I am just loving the color darkroom. It takes a bit of time to get the print just right and the color balance correct, but it's way worth it.

I ended up sleeping 16 hours. Not so much cause I was that tired. Just, waking at 8 am, I realised no one would be on, went and checked just in case, then went back to bed. I'd had an interesting dream, and wanted to get back to that. So I spent the next 8 hours sleeping and waking and sleeping and mostly dreaming. (Thank goodness for my sleepytimes-blindfold which keeps everything dark all day.)

My favourite bit in the whole dream session was everything involving my 8th-10th grade teachers. Especially the bit with my teacher Michaela (Who -- IRL, not dream-wise -- is German, and taught me both German AND Norwegian, go figure. She was good at both, too!) and the tall, pretty blonde teacher whose name I don't remember cause I didn't have her much. They danced Tango Maureen together, but changed the lyrics. I believe Michaela was Maureen, because she stuck her hand down some guy's pants. It was hilarious.


There's been music coming from outside all the time I've been here, and I suddenly remembered today's super-long-day. Which means lots of booths and stores are open late. Maybe I'll go peak around for something interesting. Hey, when you live practically on town square...

I think what I like best about rarely going on dates and being sort of apathetic about it, is that when I actually do have a date night with Jasper, it feels extra special. I'm gonna get all dressed up and we're going out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants, and then we're going to see Wall-E.

Yesterday I drove out to Ormond Beach to do a shoot with this girl I met last semester named Lucy. I barely know her but we are friends on myspace and she said she'd love to model for me. Thank god she was talkative and friendly because I was so nervous. We actually spent a lot of time talking and I told her that I was trying to be less shy because I was sort of freaking myself out over it.

When I started to do her makeup we were talking about clothes and stuff and I told her about how I get all dressed in the morning some days and then have to take it all off and put boring clothes on, blah blah blah, insecurities, and I got a bit shaky and nervous about doing her makeup but she just kept saying "It's all right, it's gonna look great." and I'd apologize for getting all nervous and she'd say "Don't worry about it, I think it's really cute, seriously, you're really cute." It kind of reminded me of Meghan, because whenever I get frustrated with something she's always reassuring me and telling me every thing is going to turn out great. I felt a lot better when we started taking pictures :)

I really need to conquer my nervousness because even though Lucy was a very friendly stranger, I'm not always going to be taking pictures of girls who are that way. I need to learn to be assertive and friendly with models and not psyche myself out so much.
